Breast Implant Revision Surgery-When Should I Replace My Implants?
San Francisco | Marin | Sonoma, California
When should I replace my implants? This is one the most common questions that Dr. Delgado is asked and a very important one.
The bottom line is that if you are having no problems with your breast then do not change them. The following are some of the many reasons to have them replaced.
Reasons to replace your implants:1. There is a significant asthetic issue. Your breast are no longer attractive to you for many reasons such as after having your children.
2. Your breasts either one or both have become firm or contracted with possibly pain or disfigured
3. Your breast implants have a leak or a deflation.
If these issues are not present, there maybe no reason to have them changed. This could be after 10 or 20 years. If you have silicone implants you may want to check on the integrety of the silicone implant shell with a MRI. If you have normal saline breast implants it will be very obvious because it will become flat like a tire.
